Robotics and IoT adoption is challenged by hardware-software integration complexity, interoperability standards, cybersecurity vulnerabilities in connected devices, and the high cost of deploying and maintaining autonomous systems at scale.
Robotics couples software to physical state, where a wrong answer has consequences that cannot be rolled back. Coordination between autonomous units is the hard part: each has partial information and the system has to behave sensibly when they disagree.
What we have built here
Our exposure here is research rather than commercial delivery, and the register says so. The work was swarm coordination, and what it taught transferred: a distributed system is defined by how it behaves when its parts hold different views of the truth.
