Technologies

The situation

A metering and asset-management product had one utility customer and needed a second. A single-tenant system encodes assumptions that only surface when a second tenant arrives, so the deadline was a data-modelling one.

What we built

Asset model

Assets and devices, premises, service points, meters, and the service agreements binding them. Single-tenant systems leave these relationships partly implicit. a lookup that works because there is only ever one answer. Making them explicit was most of the work.

Operator surface

Customer creation with country and region validation, seeding paths for agreements, service points, premises and meters, receipt import to prove the flow end to end, and a paginated assets API with dashboard and detail views.

What mattered

A four-week engagement that leaves the client dependent on the contractor has not finished. The backup and restore runbook was as much a deliverable as the code.

Outcome

A second utility onboarded onto a previously single-tenant product, in under four weeks.
